Each VRC Competitions follow a specific standard. Below is an outline of what you can expect when you go to your next competition.

Inspections

One of the most important aspects of competitions is inspection. All teams are required to go through inspection to ensure their robot are legal before they can engage in any matches

Qualifiers

Qualifiers are essential preliminaries, they are used to rank teams based on their performances. Losing a qualifier will not mean disqualification, but will result in a drop in rank. Alliance Choosing

Alliance choosing is the process in which the top 16 qualified teams are given the opportunity to choose their own partner for the elimination matches. Any team not in the top 16 and not chosen will be automatically disqualified and unable to continue on.

Skills Challenge

The Skills Challenges present the opportunity for teams to showcase their skills in programming and driving without the limitations of opposing teams or limited time. Any team can bring their robot to these fields to take on the challenge when they’re not in a match.

Elimination
